Ingredients
- 1 mango, diced
- 1/4 cup dried cranberries
- 1 clove garlic, grated
- 1 Tablespoon candied ginger, minced
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 2 Tablespoons brown sugar
- 3 ounces white vinegar
- pinch of salt
- 1/4 teaspoon turmeric
Directions
- Combine mango, cranberries, garlic, ginger, cloves, cinnamon, brown sugar, and vinegar in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
- Reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes. Add salt and simmer another 10 minutes or until liquid is completely absorbed.
- Add turmeric and remove from heat. Allow to cool slightly. Transfer to a small container and chill, covered, until ready to serve.
This makes a great topping for pork or chicken. Unlike most chutneys which are spicy, this sweet version is flavorful without overwhelming a child.
