Ingredients

  1. 1 mango, diced
  2. 1/4 cup dried cranberries
  3. 1 clove garlic, grated
  4. 1 Tablespoon candied ginger, minced
  5. 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  6. 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  7. 2 Tablespoons brown sugar
  8. 3 ounces white vinegar
  9. pinch of salt
  10. 1/4 teaspoon turmeric

Directions

  1. Combine mango, cranberries, garlic, ginger, cloves, cinnamon, brown sugar, and vinegar in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
  2. Reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes. Add salt and simmer another 10 minutes or until liquid is completely absorbed.
  3. Add turmeric and remove from heat. Allow to cool slightly. Transfer to a small container and chill, covered, until ready to serve.

This makes a great topping for pork or chicken. Unlike most chutneys which are spicy, this sweet version is flavorful without overwhelming a child.
